Serving In Communities, Rather Than In Committees
At Cross Hill Community Church, we are asking people to commit to consistent participation in our Community Gatherings and a small group study. We believe all followers of Jesus are called to be witnesses to the community through their words and deeds. To do this, we need to be active in our community, developing relationships with our friends and neighbors. Cross Hill Community Church will strive to keep facilities and programs to a minimum to free our members to serve in their communities, rather than in committees.
Opportunities to Serve
Hospitality
- Providing refreshments at Community Gatherings.
- Inviting newcomers to lunch.
- Hosting neighborhood events.
- Hosting a small group Bible Study for your friends and neighbors who don't go to church.
Community Care
- Volunteering to assist in community celebrations, ex: cleaning the park after the Land of the Loon
- Assisting single moms.
- Mowing or shoveling for widows.
Administrative - folding programs, printing, etc...
Technical - sound, video, etc..
Some of these opportunities serve the Cross Hill members, and some of these opportunities serve the community at large.
Both are needed.
